summer 2025 I

…nature is a huge inspiration. secretly working with stones and sounds. more coming soon.

summer 2025 II

tapes, tapes, tapes... nostalgic feelings, re-use and upcycling. what wonderful material. working on a new machine with machina imaginis. we started small, with a 'delineatio' (sketch in latin), the tape machine No. 100825 (delin.). yes, it worked & will be shown at the next exhibition in st.gallen. Through my sound work on that machine, I had an idea for an experimental live set with a 4-track tape recorder, pickups, stylophone theremins, synths, and delays. I will collect old cassettes for this performance directly on 'museums night st.gallen' and will bring some of the supposedly dead magnetic tapes briefly to life, if only for that moment. If everything works out, I can make a live recording of that live-intervention on tape.

september 2024

thoughts & impressions of my work for the sound-intervention ‘myst’ to nathalie bissigs exhibition ‘ninna nanna’, that took place end of august 2024 during ‘kunsthoch luzern’ @raum für zeitgenössische kunst, benzeholz, meggen, CH

This summer has been an exciting time of experimentation, during which I was fortunate to receive great trust from both the curator katrin sperry and the artist nathalie bissig. From the very beginning, I felt at ease and inspired by the selection of images sent in advance, leading to the creation of the first sound sketches for my 7.1 surround composition. after talking to the artist and visiting the art space, I suddenly had an acoustic vision with parts of a vinyl 'somewhere over the rainbow' in my head, but pitched down and distorted. also field recordings of nature soundscapes and a lot of sound-patina and noise sounds were the starting point for my composition work. In the end I crafted a unique 3D-soundscape with mix of vinyl samples, field recordings and instruments. But I felt there was something missing, if it would only be an installation. So I enhanced it live with improvisation using my voice, samples and effects. I reflected the artist's work, creating a room filled with sound that altered the perception of the pictures and brought a criskling and very special mood into benzeholz. thank you for this collaboration! <3
