sound for machines

MACHINA IMAGINIS // mim.ac

I am part of the artist collective machina imaginis // mim.ac with jonathan owadja (design & concept) & marcel siegwart (technology) since 2013, where I am responsible for the sound design and worked on the conception of the machines. If possible, these machines are made out of recycled machine control boxes. They are colorful, flashy, sounding and fun and they are truly inclusive works of art, because they are to be touched and explored and understood by all humans (other species didn’t try yet).

Over a dozen art machines in different types were created, also several large-format machines, some with over 50 sounds and knobs. We won newcomer art prizes in bologna & torino IT, one of our machines travelled to venice IT on a boat in the canal grande and were supported with an art grant by the city of st.gallen CH and the ernst-göhner-foundation.
